Tea Bag Gift Holder Tutorial

Your tutorial for this week is A Tea Bag Holder. This pattern has been around for years in all different versions. It is not my original. I am just re-introducing it as I have been using it as little gifts this past month. I use left-over Designer Series paper scraps for most of them as I am trying to use up a ton of scraps. Have fun with this project and please share your finished projects so I can post them here.

Supplies needed:

Card stock 8-1/2" x 11"

Bone Folder

Designer series paper 12" x 12"

Sticky Strip adhesive

Ribbon, approximately 8"

1" or 1-1/-4" circle punch

Round Tab Punch

Paper cutter with scoring blade

Crop-a-dial or anywhere hole punch

Step #1:

From your card stock cut :

1" x 8-1/2" strip for Belly Band

3-1/2" x 6-3/4" piece for the Cover

From your Designer Series paper cut:

6-1/2" x 5-1/2" for the middle insert

3-1/4" x 2-3/4" for the cover decoration

Step #2

With your 3-1/2" x 6-3/4" piece of card stock you will score at 3-1/8" and 3-5/8" .

Step #3

Crease with your bone folder.

Step #4
With your 6-1/2" X 5-1/2" piece of designer series paper, place your 6-1/2" side at the top of your paper cutter and score in 1/2"

You will place sticky strip along this 1/2" section.

Step #5
Remove your protective strip from the sticky strip.

Step #6
Bring the opposite end of your designer paper over to meet your sticky strip fold lining it up as you go.

Step #7
Flatten this whole piece with your bone folder.

Step #8
Score at 2-1/2" and 3".

Step #9
Using your 1" or 1-1/4" circle punch you will insert your designer paper into your hole punch 1/2 way and punch out on both ends.

Step #10
This is what your designer paper should now look like.

Apply sticky strip to your middle and to both ends above the punched out areas .

Step #11
Remove the protective cover from just the middle piece of the tape and adhere the middle down first. Now you can come back and do each side. This is how it now should look.

Step #12
With your crop-a-dial or your anywhere hole punch, punch in approximately 1" from each side. This is where your ribbon will go.

Step #13
Thread your ribbon from the inside to the outside and tie.

This is the was it should look form the outside.

Step #14
You will now decorate the outside of your holder.
I used a piece of designer paper that matched the inside. You see the scallop edge here. I removed it as it looked funny when I put the belly band on.

Step #15
Score your belly band at 2-3/4", 3", 6-1/2", and 6-3/4".

Step #16
This is a little tricky. You will place sticky strip on the underside of one end and out the outer side of the other end. So decide before you place your tape.

Step #17
Decorate your belly band and slip on the front of your holder.

For the left pocket I made a small card and used the Round Tab Punch to pull int card out of the pocket. For the right pocket I place a tea bag.

This is another tea bag holder

This has two tea bags inside.

Remember after you have made one to please link back or send me an e-mail with a photo attached so I can post your creations here. I hope you have fun with this. Happy Stamping.
Thanks for dropping by, Happy Stamping, Paula

I just can't get enough of your blog! You do the most awesome projects. I shared this one with my club and they agree with me that you are amazing! We found that Ghirardelli chocolates fit perfectly in this too! I gave out your blog link so that they could visit! Thank you!!
