SPRING/EASTER BASKET TUTORIAL

Spring/Easter basket Tutorial

I did not design this box. It was orginally shared by Cammie at myblogbycammy.blogspot.com

Supplies:
1 sheet 8-1/2” x 11”
1 sheet Designer Paper
Score Tape /Red line tape
Score Tool or Ruler
Two Brads
Scallop Edge Punch
Crop-A Dile
Round Tab Punch
1 Jumbo eyelet

Step #1: Cut your cardstock so it is 8-1/2” x 10”. Save the 1” x 8-1/2” strip you cut off as you will use it for your handle.

Step #2: With your ten “ side at the top, score at 3” and 7”.

Step #3: Turn your cardstock so the 8-1/2” side is at the top. Score at 3” and 5-1/2”

Step #4: In the middle of your cardstock you will want to cut where you see the dashed lines up to the score lines. Repeat for the other end.

Step #5: Fold those areas you just cut up and out of your way. Place the piece of cardstock onto your cutter with your long side at the top.

Step #6:
From the score line measure 1-1/2” and cut away the 1-1/2” piece on all four corners.

Crease all of your fold lines.

Step #7: Place tape on your four corners. I run a double row (see photo).

Step #8: Start with corner #1 and adhere so your middle section is the outside of your box. Now corner #2. Repeat for corners 3 and 4.

Step #9: Cut a strip of designer paper ¾” wide by 8-1/2” long and adhere to your 1” x 8-1/2” strip you saved in step #1.

Step #10: Cut one piece of DSP (Designer Series Paper) 3-3/4” x 2-3/4” and 2 pieces 2-3/4” x 2-1/4”. These will cover your front and sides. If you also wish to cover your back cut a second piece 3-3/4” x 2-3/4”. Adhere to front and both sides of your box.

Step #11: Using your Crop-A-Dile line up your handle and punch your holes through both the handle and the sides of your box. Add your brads to hold in place.

Step #12: Using a scrap of cardstock approximately 1-1/2” x 11” Use the scallop edge punch. This will form your border at the top of your basket. Run a bit of tape (snail, Mono, sticky strip or what ever you have handy) onto the scallop edge and starting in the middle front adhere with the top edge of your box. This will also cover the brads from the handles
so….if you are using decorator brads and want them to show then do step 12 before step 11.

#13 Now you can make your tag to go on your box.
It can be any size you want and I just used scraps to make mine. Its time to embellish with anything you want.

I would love to see your finished baskets.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stamping, Paula
