I was involved in a challenge to make a 3-D gift item for up coming Mothers Day. Since I had put it off for quite sometime I was now under the gun.
I had worked on a small box the other day for another project but knew I needed something a bit larger. Well, here is what I finally came up with.
I call this my Mothers Day box but, you can fill your box with so many different things.
A candle, bath salts, cookies candy, etc. In fact, you can make this box for just about any occasion. It is made of chipboard so is very sturdy. I can picture a box made for a baby shower, Easter, Valentines etc.

This pink box happens to be full of different flavored Tea Bags. I love tea weather hot or cold depending on the time of year. I just thought this would be a nice little gift to give.
Supplies Needed:
1- 12" x 12" piece of chipboard (I use the protective piece that comes with our Designer Series Papers.
2 sheets of Designer Series Paper that coordinate.
Scraps of cardstock to make your tag and the decorations to put onto your box.
Scor Tape or Red Line tape
Snail adhesive or your choice of other adhesive
Bone Folder
Scor Pal or Scoring tool/ruler
Embellishments - ribbon, brads, flowers, decorative punches etc.

Step #1
score your 12" x 12" piece of chipboard at 4" and 8". Turn 90 degrees and again score at 4" and 8"

Step #2
Where you see the dashed lines, you will score
1/2" outside your 4" and 8" score lines. This will give you the fold in piece to connect your box together. You will be scoring only two sides of your box.

Step #3
Where you see the red X's is where you will cut away these sections of your chipboard.

This is the way your chipboard should now look.

Step #4
With your bone folder or your fingers, crease all of your score lines. I usually crease mine one way then the opposite way.
Step #5
You will now cut your designer paper starting with four pieces that measure 3-7/8" X 3-7/8". Adhere these four pieces to the four corners centering them between the score and cut lines.

Step #6
Cut two pieces of designer paper 12 x 4".
Score at 4" and 8"
Set Aside.

Step #7
You will need four pieces of either designer paper or cardstock 4" x 1-1/2" for this step.
With a decorative punch you will make four strips of either designer paper or cardstock to put on the top edge of all four edges.

Step #8
With your two pieces of designer paper that measure 4" x 12" that have already been scored at 4" and 8", you will line them up with your score marks and attach them down to cover the inside of your box.
Step #9 You will now run your Scor tape/red line tape on the "outside" 1/2" edges of your box. This will fold to the middle and is not seen from the outside. I normally do one side completely then the other.
Step #10 is to decorate your box any way you want.
Happy Stamping, Paula

This box looks great! Thanks for putting together a tutorial for this! Just letting you know, I think in steps #3 and #5, you said "not" instead of "now". Could be a little confusing for others, so I thought I would let you know! =D
