I needed a quick birthday card for a neighborhood little boy. I don't do gifts, but I like to remember their birthdays. His is the third of July. I wanted something super simple and fast.

This new Tall Tales Designer Paper made the card super fun and fast to make.

I used Chocolate Chip as my base card then added a layer of Rose Red (hard to see in this photo). I then added the designer paper. I tied a piece of Brilliant Blue ribbon around the top portion of the card. Stamped the giraffe using So Saffron onto Whisper White card stock. I used a scallop edge punch (sorry, no manufacturer on the punch) and mounted this onto Old Olive scalloped (Nestabilities Die) card stock. I punched the white label using the Modern label punch and then used my Big shot movers and shapers die to do the Olive layer. I plan on stamping his name into the label but need to find out the correct spelling. So many names are now spelled so differently.

Asian Artistry

How about a 10 minute card. This is one of those really fast cards.

I used the new In Color Bermuda Bay for the base card. I used a Whisper White mat that was cut just slightly smaller than the card front. I ran this piece through my Big Shot using the Birds and Swirls embossing folder.

The rectangle is cut using a Nestability die. Actually I had something else stamped on the back that did not turn out well, so I turned it over and used the blank side. I colored my stamp using Always Artichoke and Bermuda Bay markers, stamped in the middle of the white then sponged the edges with a sponge dauber in Bermuda Bay ink. I tied a ribbon around the larger piece of white card stock then mounted the smaller piece using dimensionals then mounted the whole thing onto the Bermuda Bay card front. Fast and Easy.

More Asian Artistry

Birds seem to be really popular again. It funny how things go out of style for awhile then come back around again. That is the way I feel about birds.....here they are back again. Some of the cute little owls (about the only kind of bird I can tell what it is) are fun to play with. My bird today is Blue.....(get it? Blue Bird) I used the new in color Bermuda Bay for my card.
The base card is Whisper White with a Layer of Bermuda Bay. I then used a layer of Barely Banana and used a border embossing template. I then cut a smaller piece of Bermuda Bay card stock and embossed it with the Birds and Swirls embossing folder by cuttlebug to keep with the bird theme even thought you can't see if under the main image. I cut out the whisper white piece using a nestability, sponged the Bermuda Bay and Barely Banana around the inside then I used markers on my stamp (Bermuda Bay and Always Artichoke) I then stamped inside the frame. I used an aqua painter and just tapped some color from my marker onto the aqua painter and lightly colored in my bird. I then punched out a scallop oval and the large oval. I had not added my words yet as I don't know what I will use this card for. I do that a lot. Stamp the cards and leave the word area blank.

I've Been Missing

I have missed all of you. I won't go into detail but.....between health issues, funerals, being out of town etc. I have not been on the computer for over a week. Yikes.....I will try to get caught up. I have over 3000 e-mail to read...delete some, answer some etc. Please give me some time to do that.

I thought I would give you a sneek peek today as to one of the new stamp sets, new designer papers and new in colors.

This stamp set is called Razzle Dazzle. The Card Stock is two of the new In Colors, Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. I used the new In Color markers to color my stamp (Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Dusty Durango, and Rich Razzleberry.

I also used the new Modern Label punch along with the new Magnetic Movers and Shapers Punch Windows. Just love them. Now, tell me what you think of the new items?

Thanks for dropping by. Happy Stamping, Paula

Super Easy Card

At times I go back to the very basic and do super easy cards that anyone can create. This stamp set Circle Circus makes that so easy. What I like is when I get ready to mail them you can just put a little paper towel over the brad area and there is no extra postage.
Base card stock is Kiwi Kiss with the next layer being Very Vanilla. I used Urban Garden Designer Paper. I then used my needle tool to make my holes for my brads then adhered the pieces together. The next layer is River Rock with Vanilla on top of that. I then stamped my circles onto Whisper White and used the 1-3/4" 1-1/4" and 3/4" punches to punch the circle out and mounted them onto the Vanilla.
Normally I would never mix Whisper White and Very Vanilla together on the same card, but I want the circles to stand out from the background vanilla. This is a carry over from when I first started stamping and was told never to put the two (vanilla and white) together on the same card. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stamping, Paula

More Circle Circus

I am having so much fun with this new stamp set Circle Circus. For our last unit meeting the theme was something bright. You had to use bright colors. What could be more fun that Circle Circus in the new In Colors?
The base card is Bermuda Bay with Whisper White on top. I just stamped a whole sheet of white with all of the different colors (Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango) randomly all over the white. I then used Bermuda Bay Polka Dot ribbon to break up the middle. I stamped one of the larger circles in Melon Mambo punched it out with the 1-3/4" circle punch and mounted that onto a scallop circle. I stamped Happy Birthday right into the middle of the circle. So simple and fast to recreate. Give it a try.

Fifth Ave Floral

I wanted to play with some of the new IN COLORS. I just love every one of them. Normally there are one or two colors that just don't talk to me. Well, this year they hit the mark. I love them all.
This card was made using the stamp set Fifth Avenue Floral. (Another favorite of mine). I used Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango for my color scheme. The base card is Dusty Durango then I used Designer Paper Razzleberry Lemonaide (New). The Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon just adds a nice little touch. I then layered crushed curry card stock for my next layer. The whisper white card stock was stamped all over using both Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango ink. I then stamped a separate flower onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock and colored it with my Dusty Durango marker in just certain areas. I cut it out and popped it up using dimensionals. I then used the new Modern Label punch and the Movers and shapers punch window modern label punch. So.....how do you like the new colors? Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stamping, Paula
